The first Biodistrict in Serbia and Southeast Europe – Kolubara Biodistrict was presented at the international conference held in the Biodistrict “Southern Sardinia and the Sulcis Archipelago” which was held on November 6, 2024 in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy with the support of the Sardinia region and in cooperation with IN.N.E.R. – International Network of Ecoregions and GAOD – Global Alliance for Organic Districts.
As part of the conference held in Cagliari, Serbia Organica officially became a member of the International Network of Biodistricts/Ecoregions, with which the Agreement on Cooperation on the Development of Biodistricts in Serbia was signed.
Pavle Đorđević, an organic producer from the Kolubara Biodistrict, Valjevska Kamenica, who was chosen as the coordinator of the Kolubara Biodistrict, presented the process of its establishment, which was initiated in 2023 by Serbia Organica and supported by GIZ and an international expert from Argentina, Dr. Juan Pablo Sciurano IN.N.E.R, as well as the first steps that have been taken so far in its development, structuring and functioning.
